Tunnel Hill Winery is a small artisan winery located on the south shore of Lake Chelan in central Washington. Tunnel Hill makes its home at the Sunshine Farm, a multi-generational family farm that has been producing quality food in the Chelan valley for over 50 years.
Former orchardist Denny Evans planted the first vineyards in 2003 and bottled his first vintage in 2006. Now his son Guy Evans is taking over winemaking operations.
What's in a name?
The name “Tunnel Hill” comes from the Knapp’s Hill Tunnel which you pass through on your way to Wenatchee. The stone that was used to build the tasting room and the stone cottage comes from the original excavation of the tunnel in 1937. Working with skilled stonemason Felipe Banuelos, we expanded the original stone building that now houses the tasting room and have begun construction on our new stone-faced production facility.
